O.T. AC/Heater Question

Greetings and Happy New Year everyone.

I've have an off topic question regarding a 2009 Ford Explorer. Thanks for excusing my asking a Ford question here. Consider the pain it causes a belated New Year's hangover.

OK, so when when I start the vehicle I hear a slight "whoosh" sound under the dash. When I am traveling all seems when with the heater until I push the gas. At that point I seem to lose all airflow from the interior vents. When I let off the gas, everything returns to normal.

Im guessing that this is either a valve of some kind leaking, or a vacuum leak somewhere under the dash.

Anyone else had this problem that can point to the likely culprit so I don't have to have the entire dash pulled?
