And yes, none of the Michelin X series are a good choice for ice.
Back in the '70s, Goodyear made tires with a softer rubber compound that were fantastic on packed snow and ice. They were called F32 Winter Radials. Idaho State Police ran them on their cars. But they never made them for trucks and they no longer make them, period.
