It came with what looks to be a shop-built decent-quality flat bumper I basically bolted a 2" step-bumper receiver upside down on top of the flat bumper. But I also made a T-shaped flat piece out of plate to go between the receiver and the bumper, and extends forward to the nearest frame cross-member. That gave me a wider plate to mount the receiver to, to help keep the receiver from rocking back and forth. In hindsight, I should have made it a little thicker or braced it with a small piece of channel or something, because I can bend it a little by jumping up and down on the hitch. The height works out perfectly for the pintle hitch on the M101 (turned "down" in the M37 position). With a pintle hook attachment in the receiver, the safety chains on the M101 are just long enough to hook into the "upside-down" chain holes on the receiver mount. It's a tidy arrangement.
The bumper came with a tab on the bottom and a hole for a trailer ball, so if I want to pull a low, light trailer, I'll just stick a ball in there. But mostly, for my purposes, I prefer the hitch up higher than all the new rigs and aftermarket pre-fab receiver mounts.
