Saw this on ebay and am thinking it would probably work good for controlling a heater blower, windshield wipers, or even panel/dome light brightness. Unlike a rheostat, it should provide a regulated voltage to the motor so speed won't vary so much with load. Also unlike a rheostat, it shouldn't get very hot in operation. At $5 delivered, I'm going to buy one and give it a try. Only problem I can see is it might cause radio noise. Works on 12 or 24 volts so it could be used on M37s. It appears to be good for 7 amps, although their specs aren't entirely clear on that.
