The 36-12.5-16.5 are bias ply and have a heavier sidewall. The 37-12.5-16.5 are radials and have a 2 ply sidewall. I have these on my M-37 and they ride very nice. I have been told by the surplus dealer from whom I bought them that the military is only using the bias ply in training manuevers because the radials sidewalls puncture to easily.
I did rip a radial apart off road and now only run them on the street. I was surprised to see how thin the side walls were. When I do heavy off-roading I put on 11-16 ex-Lav tires which are 12 ply and can air way down.
