I don't know about a 1987 truck. My "old" diesels are a 1954 Cat D4 dozer and a 1965 John Deer tractor, which I know were designed long before anybody worried about sulfur fumes in the exhaust. My "new" diesels are the military multifuel engines (LDT465), which I assume will survive on fuel with practically no lubricating value since they claim to burn straight gasoline without damage.
