I would would consider putting a 360 Dodge engine in. Ray at Helitool has all the engine mounts and etc available so you do not have to fight the fitting process. If I were going to do a V8 I would go this route. He has done all the hard work for you. YOu just need to get the peices and bolt it together.
I have a Chev 327 in my carryall but it was there when I bought the truck.
