I found 89 to 91 best suited to my kind of work (Mountains oilpatch) no club cab. 92 had club cab intercooler, lower turbo boost poor economy, lack of power. I think tthev started yo improve in 93&4. My 97 auto wouldent pull traded it for a 98 excellent truck. Just my experience. Regards George
