As for cooling problems try these tips:
1: reverse flush completlt the cooling system with Dupont flush kit.
2: rplace the thermosat
3: Take out the raditator and have a good shop check it for clogging.
3: Peplace the presure cap.
4: Belt for slipping
5: Do not use either a aluminm or plastic flex fan blade. Try to get a 7 blade. These are the best.
6: Replace all hoses including the bypass.
7: Check the fuel mixture and timing
8: Check the fan drive if in doubt replace it.
9: Check the fan shoud and see that it is in place and the fan about a 1" away from raditator.
