The pumpkins in your WDX (as well as the housings, axles knuckle joints) are all Chrysler. The ring gear diameter is 9 5/8 inches. I believe they are stronger than a dana 60. Although the post war trucks with the offset rear end will occasionally break the short axle due to its inability to flex under a load. If you plan to use your Dodge for heavy work or radical 4wheelin' I racommend you change the rear housing and axles to the WWII 3/4 ton, center mounted type. My 3/4 ton Weapons Carrier was in Europe during the war, then was used as a logging equipment repair vehicle in Oregon for 25 years. I have been using it for 6 years now as a hardcore offroad vehicle and an occasional steel hauler. I have never broke an axle or front drive joint, or replaced a diff.
Hope that was enough and not too much Have Fun!!!
