A mere 4-1/2 years before i was born, on this exact day and time (Dec. 7, 1941; 1:06 pm Eastern, 8:06 am Pacific) a Japanese bomber dropped an 800 kg armor-piercing bomb from 10,000 ft, which hit the battleship USS Arizona, penetrated four decks, and touched off a massive explosion in a forward powder magazine. The ship sank in 9 minutes, killing 1,177 men including more than 30 sets of brothers. There were three families who each lost 3 sons who served together on board. The largest single loss of life on a US warship in history. Stay vigilant, America!
