As was once said by a Chinee impersonator, Ahhh So. The silica product employed to make the resin into a paste, and or to just thicken resin is known in the fiberglass world as "Cabosil", looks similar to flour and works about the same as flour thickening custard, except you probably don't want to lick spoon or bowl.
I'd hazard a guess it has greater hardness than the conventional talc bondo although it may lack some bond between silica particle and resin compared to the conventional. Not to sound ike a screaming alarmist, but I also wonder if there is a Silicosis exposure potential when sanding the hardened product.
I have a personal dislike for inhaling dust, even the crap spewed by the vacuum cleaner in the house.
Also wonder about durability, I have a tile floor with a corner broken out of one of the asphalt tiles I've been thinking of filling in with either bondo or duraglass.
