I came home from VN on Christmas eve 1968. Best Christmas present ever. I never missed one at home since the first one was right after AIT and was home on leave. I did miss 3 thanksgivings in a row. The third one I had been out of the Army for over 5 months and back from VN for nearly a year but still ended up in PDX VA hospital with malaria. Never had it in VN.
