I went a little more modern on mine. Needed to be seen on the road good. Used one for brakes and one for turn signals. I also added a switch that ties them together for 4/way flashers when the signal is turned to blink. The brake lights are totally separate from the turn signals. At night they show up real good and no wondering if the brakes are on.
