It looks like the OD ratio would fall right between 3rd and 4th. With the 3rd gear reduction and torque multiplication that would mean 150 ft/lb torque. Could it handle that? Do you guys use it as such? I know they were used on higher output engine than ours- Jags etc.
Also, I think the back up light switch from a 727 auto might work as a lock out to prevent use of OD except in 4th gear. For back up light use it was a simple install, merely thread the reverse shift rail hole to 3/4x16 (IIRC). It's already drilled the right size. I did one in chassis. But 4th might need some adjustment. Or the use of the neutral safety contact- it's a three wire switch. Just an idea at this time. .
