I have Hagerty but like you say, it's not a daily driver/work vehicle. Even they have changed their system. Years ago I had to get an appraiser that they approved of and get a value from that. I assumed it was the same when I got my truck done so I called for a name of an "approved" appraiser. They told me they don't do that anymore, just place a value and if it is out of line they would need more info, receipts, pictures and stuff if their home office refuted the amount. This was for a stated value policy, meaning, if totaled, stolen they pay that amount with no depreciation.
It's a catch 22 to become insurance poor anymore. I do not feel you are out of line with your $20,000. It would be way more than that if you want some labor as you won't get one like you built done for that price.
