That cylinder contains 90% propane and 10% ether.
You can get the same result by sticking an unlit propane torch into the air intake.
Old trick for starting ornary Diesels in cold is to put a lit propane torch in the air intake between filter and airbox to warm that chamber, then crank the engine up. The Diesel will suck the flame off the torch and suck propane to enhance starting.
Worked well on everything since B Macks and still works.
