Get one of those cheap harbor freight Infer/Red Heat Detectors. They work great to see where it is getting hot/hotter on a engine. Better than your fingers on the exhaust manifold like I used to do. You can check plug temps, heater hoses, freeze plugs for cool or hot spots, when the thermostat opens ect.
