That's fascinating. I thought that was a sure way to crack a manifold. I've noticed that they do bend some when tightening everything, despite being cast iron. I don't have a machinist's straight edge, but I could lay them on the table saw top. It would sure be nice to be able to bolt them together tightly before installing, so I could see that there was a good seal all around.
Do you have any opinion on whether the orange/copper silicone, regular red silicone, or acoustiseal is likelier to seal this up permanently?
