I've had a few 1961 to 71 swepts in my life - but just got a 1959 w100
It "feels" like the body metal is thicker than the 61-71 trucks. Anyone know about the history of body metal gauging ... like the evolution of how thicknesses changed over the years. I know things are alot thinner now than then...but would like to really understand the thinking...and how rules changed about body panels. Also - this w100 is crazy heavy...and it seems to me the dana 44 closed knuckle up front is a bit wimpy for such a heavy truck..opinions? thanks!
