Like Dean said, run a series of weld beads across the bearing race. They will cool and shrink the bearing.
The castings for the bearing retainers vary quite a bit. On my WM300 the retainers had thinner shoulders supporting the bearings, so it was easy to catch the inside edge of the race with a drift. On the 6x6 the shoulders were wider and I was JUST able to catch the edge of the bearing, but I chewed up the shoulder edge a bit. After the bearings were out I put the retainers in a lathe and chamfered the edge of the shoulder for easier access to the bearing. If you don't have a lathe, you could file 2 notches 180 deg apart in the edge of the shoulder. The next person to rebuild the winch will thank you.
