yes, the variations are pretty little, meaning the numbers varing from cylinder to cylinder are very little. all are about 90 lbs, here or there
Not being the best mechanic around, I did the test first by removing just #6 cylinder. that showed a reading of like 65 lbs.. oh boy.. I was worried.
Not until I went thru the cylinders, I plug removal at a time did I realize that the engine, without plugs, was rotaing faster and faxter, giving a better reading each time!
So, I did the test all over again, starting with #6 and moving on thru to #1, and thats when I got the 90 lbs each, with very little difference cylinder to cylinder.
Now, that said..
what if the battery was running down?
Would it affect the numbers too?
second. to one of my forst concerns.. is 90 lbs per cylinder a usable number? or is this too low?
lastly.. the oil pressure.. cold oil. first starup was pretty good. definatly over 25 lbs. closer to 30 I think?
but afte a good run and that engine hot, it was under 10 lbs at one point.. at a VERY LOW idle...
Yea, Mac.. i a mhoping that the more I run it, the better the engine will sound and feel. I am hoping for the best, that is, whatever compression rings or oil rings are in there free up and start doing their jobs better.
