From what I read the sheave should be 20-25 times the dia of the cable which puts it around 8-10 inches in dia to not over load/fast wear the cable. Smaller dia pulleys will lower the max rating of the cable in use. Also depends on the angle of the pull on how much to de/rate the cable. 2:1 for 0 deg pull and less as it get a wider angle.
