having been thru this the problems are
900 tires are not correct and could be dangerous on 7.50 x rims so you don t want to use them
you cannot move the center out on a 900 and use it as the inner dual as it will hit the drum
standard in the oilfield back in the day was to move each center out 1 1/2 in. which gives you plus or minus 1 in. between tires when mounted depending on which 900 x 16 you use--but if you do this you have to turn the ear on the od of the brake drum enuff for the wheel to slide over the drum
since then i have discovered and easier way and that is to move one center out on the opp. side ot the wheel from the split ring as you cannot move it out that far on the split ring side cuz it just won t go that far out
on the opp. side you can move it out the three inches but will need a plus or minus 1/8 ring betweent the wheel center and the the wheel to snug em up when welding or re riveting as at the 3 in. out on this side of the the wheel the wheel diameter is plus or minus 1/4 in. wider dia. than the wheel center
this allows you to use the stock wheel as an inner and the above as the outer
or you could maybe use the wheel you moved out 3 in. as the inner(if you turn the drum od down) and the stock wheel as an outer that way to don t stick out so far
proof in point that this can be
