Many years ago (am I that old now?) I was driving my little Dakota down a county blacktop when I heard a tremendous bang and the ground shook enough for me to notice it while going down the road.
Just ahead there was a trailer tipped up on its side and a small dozer down in the ditch, almost on its top.
He was okay and thanked me for stopping. We figured the shoulder was soft enough that it gave way when he was loading it..
