My favorites were the people who wanted a firm price for building their home but they weren't settled on such things as windows, cabinets, countertops, trim, type of heating system, etc., etc. Some of these items individually could have varied in price by $10k to $30k, depending on the size of the house and the choice they made. Laminate/granite??? Wood frame/vinyl windows???
Then there was the guy who wanted a 3500 sq. ft. house with a full UNFINISHED basement. As the project progressed he asked me to have the electrical, plumbing, etc. roughed in. This required framing. Then it was insulation, drywall, al the way to finished, and he thought my "firm" estimate should be enough to cover the extras.
The people with the most money were usually the hardest to work for.
