looking for an inexpensive place to buy intake and exhaust valve springs for a 1952 plymouth P23 motor.
all experience I have, as well as looking at places like VPW website indicate that ALL dodge/plymouth 218/230 motors use the same spring, for either EXHAUST or INTAKE.
(Part #CC869449 with VPW)
Is that first assumption correct?
I also surmize that the 218 and the 230 engines also use the same springs.
Am I also correct so far? again, the VPW website list ONE spring and for "all flat heads" as it states
well, then, looking at the Rock Auto website, I can find this spring under a 1954 truck, 218 application.
however.... it lists two different springs so not sure what to do:
SEALED POWER VS304
w/o Rotocaps; 2.0000" Free Height
or...
SEALED POWER VS506
w/Rotocaps; Use w/Rotocaps; 1.8570" Free Height
I think its the first one..VS304
Max OD = 1.174
height open - 1.375
closed height = 1.75"
coils: 8:1
can anyone confirm the exact spring I would order.. again, they have two different springs in the same application listing.
Or am I to think maybe the exhaust and the intake use a different spring by chance?
thanks all
