Hey, I'd say go for it and have some fun. Keep in mind though, (and I may get yelled at) the 1/2 tons are heavy, underpowered, have no low range, are top heavy equating to not the best thing for 4 wheeling, especially compared to todays technolgy. They will drive over almost anything on flat ground, hill climbing is the main problem. They say parts break a lot, I only broke a spring once. Modifying it would solve a lot. I have one but can't bear to change it from original - but I've thought (dreamed) about putting spare sheetmetal on a modern chassis. In my mind that is still about the coolest truck you could have on a trail. Better than lettin' it sit and rust away, hackin' it up and/or workin' it to death (or worse - crushin' it) which is what has happened to many. Keep 'em rollin'
