It looks like it might have a military cab though, regardless, I agree it's a nice looking truck. I'm kind of faced with the same decision right now. I have a complete WC12 with a rusted and worn but possibly salvageable frame and a WC4 parts truck (hardly any sheetmetal) with an abused but more salvageable winch frame, with winch, pto and tranny. I may put the WC12 body on the winch frame. I'm thinking that although not exact production all partswill be original 1/2 ton parts and the truck may be more fun and worth more with the winch. Possibly, I am told the Army could have done modifications such as this. Am I right about this or would this be a bad decision? Or better yet - anyone have a good WC12 frame for sale in the Southern California area?
On a side note - the WC4 was used as a hoist truck up to 2 years ago, still runs with the original engine (LA Ordinance rebuild 1945) and was pretty well maintained. It could still be used on the job today!
