This 1989 is a throttle body fuel injection. Switching to a Magnum would be too much work, since they are multi-port fuel injected, unless you could put your throttle body on the Magnum. Your best bet is just to swap the engine and transmission of an 88'-90' ram pickup with a 318 or 360. If you want more power add a cam while you have the engine out. I didn't even know that the transmission wouldn't work, since my dad's 89' 3.9 and my 90' 5.2 seem to have the same tranny. Whatever the case, good luck!
