Automatic transmissions have a dust plate with a rounded lower edge. But I think the upper portion which mates to the block is the same. At least it would provide an accurate pattern which can be modified flat n the bottom to mate to the lower inspection cover. That would save a lot of guesswork.
If I can't find the proper manual transmission cover, I'll get an auto cover and use it for a pattern.
