If you decide to build or buy one. Make the working height at your waist level. Makes an unbelievable difference till you are done. Tables are great too as it saves bending over to split again when dealing with big stuff. I made mine swing away which is extremely useful and speeds it all up.
A lot of prebuilts have stuff in the way and are way too low for me. Rent, help or borrow different splitters to see what you like and don't like. Everyones take and situation varies so it's not a one size fits all thing.
