Is this your truck? You want to go with tandem axles on the rear? I like the COE Cabs my tender had one it was a 94 COE Freightliner with a 3406 CAT 425 HP Jake Brake, Exhaust Brake and Grade Retarder on the transmission that used engine oil to slow it down thru a converter. Had no problems weighing 48,000 lbs max getting around and stopping.
