At the Seattle Center there is a new building where all the very fancy galvanized steel hand rails are bolted to the concrete with left-handed nuts. All I can figure is either somebody thought that would confuse vandals who might try to remove them (unlikely since the studs are stamped "L") or it was a cost-plus contract and the architect was doing everything he could to jack up the cost.
