The trick seems to be to move the truck and the winch in the right relation to each other. He moves the truck slowly forward while loading and backward while unloading. This keeps the center of gravity behind the back end of the bed so it doesn't fall over with a bang. Yeah, I bet it takes practice to get that right. Even so, it looks like it puts a hell of a strain on the winch and frame when it wobbles and jerks backward a bit. It's not something to be tried with a wimpy truck, either.
