I'll retract what I said about free fuel in the atmosphere. I suppose there is no energy in atmospheric O. The energy comes from breaking the bonds between C, H, and O in the fuel, but you need O combust the fuel.
Does the higher O content make the combustion more efficient, or does the higher effective compression make it more efficient? Or is not really increasing efficiency at all, but only allowing more fuel to be burned for more power?
