Paul, I've seen the t-case crack before due to the centering ball in the middle of the double cardan joint wearing out due to lack of grease. It's basicly impossible to grease it without removing the yoke due to the location of the zerk. Once this ball wears the t-case end of the shaft will be able to wobble out of balance & slowly fatigue the t-case housing.
