Dad slips a couple 2x8s under the cab (or car body) and then lifts the boards with crank-up camper jacks. He's been using this method for decades.

I didn't have a handy photo showing the jacks. The straps in this photo were actually to steady the cab while working on the wood sills in the bottom of the cab. The straps were not used to remove the cab from the chassis.
