The answer varies a little depending on model. The general answer is there is a tag on the dash or glove box door with the serial number (VIN) and the same number is stamped into the drivers side of the frame facing the tire near the front axle front spring shackle. Sometimes it is as far back as the front axle so clean that whole area.
