Hi all,
My frame has been cut immediately in front of the front cross member, and the pieces are long gone, so I need to rebuild.
I am thinking that I would like to reconstruct a setup such that I can have a removable plow frame for the winter, and in the summer slip in a winch (probably hydraulic) and bumper.
Toward that end, I was thinking of rebuilding the front end close to (exactly?) like a 1/2ton winch model, with some reinforcing, especially as it goes into the cross member. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas and thoughts on this approach? Should I go longer or shorter? Fatter or skinnier? Are the 1/2 horns particularly weak? They look a bit thin near the end, but they were designed for winching.
Additionally, anyone have a similar setup and/or pictures of a removable plow rig? I think GoodRoads were bolt on, any others?
Thoughts or pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks,
don
