I think the right answer is to find a modern right-angle drive system where the reverse was built in, kind of like some of the boat/rear window units, and then build it such that it had a plate and arm that ran across the cab to the other side to operate a crank lever. At least that way you'd only need one motor vice having to find a mirrored pair, but to get a bigger motor the right angle drive is the only way to get the extra room.
Problem I've seen with most of the rear window/industrial units is they have one speed, and it's usually slow.
