I have my bellhousing hooked up to my 318. I notice the inspection cover is straight across the bottom of the bellhousing, leaving a big gap between its top lip and the block surface and rear bearing. I was told that there was no plate that went between the flywheel and the block. I also checked several books and none showed any kind of a plate. But something is obviously missing. What's wrong? Is there a seperate piece I'm missing? Or a biig plate that will require me to take the transmission, bellhousing, clutch and flywheel apart and reinstall?
