I just plated my 1945 dodge WC pick-up. I only had to pay last years excise tax in addition to the normal fee's for one year. The total was less than 50.00 to get the plates.
This truck was parked for years at a service(gas)station that retired it. Then I bought it back in 1976, and finally plated it in 2001. It sat in my garage for 25 years...who knows how long it was retired before that.
I guess I shouldn't have complained about the scuff marks on the plate since it was shipped to them with out the clear plastic bag.
I was wondering if those who are getting taken by the tax man, could retitle their older parked vehicles as newly assembled. (like a kit car)
Then the fact that this vehicle existed previously, would not count. But then it's not a valuable collectable anymore?
