My daily driver is a 50 Plymouth Suburban wagon. I commute 58 miles a day without incident. We just returned from a 300 mile overnight trip to the coast, again without incident. Your mileage will depend on all the usual things, and your driving style. I did install a 323 rear end in mine, but the old 390 got ok mileage. You might also want to install front discs, there's kits around. I would never, ever go back to a "modern" car......in fact when my 42 Dodge pickup is finished the Plymouth might be to new. Buy it drive it and never have a car payment.
