OK, most people will not believe this, but DOT 5 is not always good.

I work on forklifts for a living, and Yale/Hyster went with DOT 5, and ran into problems. Because water will not be adsorbed by DOT 5 brake fluid, it floats in a layer on top of the brake fluid. It will rust, and pit where that layer of water lays. This was really bad in freezer, and cooler trucks. For a quick fix, they had a refit and made the cylinders out of stainless steel. Then they went back to dot 3, and started using hyd oil in most of them now.

So bare in mind, DOT 5 is not the answer to all brake problems......
