Seems the Standyne pump used a steel piston in the bottom of a zinc body. Any water in the pump settled in the bottom, corroding the piston in place. So no injection advance. P-Poor performance.
So yeah, management can be it. Though that one was fuel management. And your lack of black puffs make that a possibility. The boost line you talk of is goes to the sensor? Low boost sensed = poor power?
Turbos do go bad, can you check the boost pressure?
Rat nest in the air inlet?
