Walked up the hill west of town a few days ago and saw a herd of about 20 elk, and no wolf sign. I have a hunch the Fish & Game have been killing the wolves around here, but keeping it quiet. 2 years ago there was wolf sign everywhere in the spring, and almost no elk. The mild winter surely helped them a lot too. When do they start dropping their calves?
