If you search the archives you will find lots to read up on as well as this topic seems to come up fairly regularly.
Many people will use 2 welders. a small 110v mig unit to do sheet metal. I believe Lincoln has a stitch setting that will automatically start/stop to help reduce heat build-up.
Then a larger mig 220v unit for more serious fabrication of bumpers, cross-members, mounts etc.
To Mig weld Aluminum, you need to change out a few items on the welder. if you did it frequently, I think it would be easier to have a dedicated Aluminum welder. You an also TIG weld aluminum, but that is it's own beast of a process.
To Mig
