Because it's plastic, the rating depends on temperature. The standard rating is 160 psi @
73°F, 100 psi @ 180°F, and 80 psi@ 200° F.
This is a safety factor of 2 for most water applications, and is plenty for shop air as well. If it breaks, it should tear open safely rather than blowing fragments around like PVC can. I use copper for the "fussy bits" near the ends where there are lots of fittings and tight bends, and PEX for the long runs. Seems to be a good combination.
