interesting conversation below regarding power steering alternatives. i believe in the KISS method. the helitool system is proven and reliable, but requires a frame notch or tweak. the electric alternative requires electronics and possibly is too weak for our trucks. a better alternative is a system i saw on a ww2 scout car i recently saw for sale. it is a hydraulic - power steering pump powered - system that goes between the steering box and the orig steering column. it is mounted with a heavy fabricated bracket and the hydro lines are the only required additions. throw a helitool ps pump on the flatty, mount this system under the dash, remount your stock wheel at the best height for you. you retain the stock steering geometry and do the least amount of modifications to your vehicle. i post pics later....
